Gustav Fleischhauer

Gustav Fleischhauer (born April 8, 1859 in Weißenfels , † November 23, 1925 in Magdeburg ) was a German engineer and industrialist .

education

Gustav Fleischhauer, son of the factory owner and city councilor August Fleischhauer , attended secondary school in Leipzig . After completing his military service , he completed training in a machine tool factory in Chemnitz . In 1880 Fleischhauer went to Karlsruhe and studied mechanical engineering at the Polytechnic there and in Hanover . In Karlsruhe he became a member of the Germania fraternity (today Teutonia ).

Professional background

After graduating, Fleischhauer worked for a short time as an engineer at the Georgsmarienhütte in Osnabrück . In the fall of 1885 he moved to Magdeburg to set up a "Bureau for electrical light and power systems" . Just six months after it was founded, the company was commissioned to sell electrical lighting equipment and later for all other Siemens & Halske products . This agency ended in 1900 and the company continued to work without close contact with other manufacturers.

voluntary work

Fleischhauer was involved in founding the Electrotechnical Society in Magdeburg. He was on its board for many years, including as its first chairman. He also helped found the Association of German Electrical Installation Companies . He was also involved in the committee and board of the VDE .
