Gustav Holzmann (politician)

Gustav Holzmann (born August 8, 1825 in Köthen ; † February 13, 1903 there ) was a lawyer and member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation .

Life

Holzmann attended high school in Köthen and studied law in Leipzig . From 1847 he was a lawyer, later an actuary and from 1853 a judge. He was a member of the state parliament for the cities of the 2nd district from 1860 to 1862, at the same time a member of the state parliament committee and the public debt administration. In 1864/65 he was again a member of the state parliament, but did not receive the highest confirmation when he was re-elected after the dissolution in the winter of 1865. In 1862/63 he got into a parliamentary and literary dispute with the Bernburg Minister von Schätzell over the salt mine.

In 1867 he was a member of the constituent Reichstag of the North German Confederation for the constituency of Anhalt 2 ( Bernburg , Köthen , Ballenstedt ) and the National Liberal Party .
