Gustav Kohne

Gustav Kohne (born December 19, 1871 in Brelingen , † September 30, 1961 in Oegenbostel ) was a German educator and writer .

Gustav Kohne was the ninth child in a farming family . He attended elementary school in his home town of Brelingen and then the preparatory institute in Wunstorf . Then he completed a three-year training course as a primary school teacher there . From 1892 he worked as a teacher in Bothfeld and from 1897 in Groß-Buchholz . There he passed the examination to become a high school teacher . From 1900 he worked as a teacher in Hanover , later also as the principal of a middle school . In addition, he published literary works. - After the seizure of power of the Nazis in 1933 Kohne was one of the signatories of the of Hitler directed " pledge most faithful followers ."

Gustav Kohne was the author of novels , short stories and plays , most of which are based in his home in Lower Saxony . His most successful work was the novel biography of the Prussian general and military reformer Gerhard von Scharnhorst , consisting of the volumes "Youth Sinews", "Mannesstreben" and "Heldenleben" , which appeared in numerous editions from 1933 onwards in a volume entitled "Armorer of the People" .
