Gustav Korkhaus

Gustav Korkhaus (born January 4, 1895 in Cologne , † June 16, 1978 in Bonn ) was a German dentist .

Career

After attending the secondary and secondary school in Cologne (matriculation examination 1914) and military service (1914 to 1918), Korkhaus studied dentistry in Berlin and Bonn, where he received his doctorate degree in June 1921. med. dent. was awarded a doctorate (subject: “About the elevated canine position”). From 1927 to 1934 he was, brought about by his teacher Alfred Kantorowicz , head of the orthodontic department of the municipal school dental clinic in Bonn, after his habilitation on the subject of "On the influence of genetic material on the development of the dentition" in 1929 initially private lecturer , from 1935 on non-scheduled and "denazified “(And already suggested by Kantorowicz in his place in 1946) from 1948 full professor at the University of Bonn and director of the university dental, oral and maxillofacial clinic, whose new building on Wilhelmsplatz was inaugurated in 1960 (Korkhaus' teacher Kantorowicz was present as a guest of honor ). In 1945 he submitted his dissertation in human medicine ( on the changes in the dentition and facial skull in acromegaly ). On May 1, 1966, Korkhaus retired. The number of his publications is about 220.

Since 1925 he was born with Margot Korkhaus. Sprengholz married.
