Gustav Locke

Gustav Locke (born October 16, 1886 in Diez ; † March 15, 1949 in Wetzlar ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Advisory State Committee of Greater Hesse , a predecessor of the Hessian state parliament .

Gustav Locke was a mechanical engineer and in the 1920s a member of the supervisory board and later managing director of the building and savings association in Wetzlar. He was a soldier in World War I and was seriously injured. In Wetzlar he was chairman of the Reich Association of War Disabled and Relatives .

From 1924 to 1929 he was a member of the city parliament for the SPD. With the seizure of power by the Nazis, he was briefly in " protective custody taken" and then lived in Wiesbaden with his daughter. He worked in a printing company in Wiesbaden until he was dismissed in the mid-1930s and worked as a photographer.

He was arrested again in 1944 as part of the grid action and held in the Frankfurt-Preungesheim prison for two weeks.

After the Second World War he became the local chairman of the SPD in Wetzlar, city councilor and member of the city committee. From February 26, 1946 to July 14, 1946, Gustav Locke was a member of the appointed Advisory State Committee of Hesse.
