Gustav Neumann (geographer)

Gustav Neumann (born March 15, 1832 in Rathenow ; † July 7, 1885 in Eberswalde ) was a German geographer and schoolboy.

Life

Neumann was born the son of a teacher and attended the teachers' college in Marienburg from 1849 to 1852 . He then temporarily held teaching positions in Riesenburg , Tauroggen , Strasburg in West Prussia , Berlin and Anklam . From 1857 he worked as a teacher in Neustadt-Eberswalde . Besides a few smaller treatises on local history, he wrote reference works on the geography of Germany and a textbook on geography.
