Gustav sacrifice
Gustav Sacrifice (born December 21, 1876 in Düsseldorf , † 1957 ibid) was a German figure, portrait and landscape painter from the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Gustav Sacrifice was a scholarship holder of the Aders-Tönnies-Stiftung and a student at the Düsseldorf School of Applied Arts . He took lessons from Eduard von Gebhardt at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . As a painter he lived in the center of Düsseldorf (Bismarckstrasse 44-46) and belonged to the Malkasten artists' association .
In 1911 he reported in the Düsseldorfer Zeitung about the “ Sonderbund exhibition in the Kunsthalle ”. He contributed the chapter “Painting” to Otto Brandt and Otto Most's 1914 local history and economics for Rhineland and Westphalia . In 1915 he wrote about “ Wilhelm Schreuer's War Pictures” for the art magazine Die Kunst für Alle .
