Gustav Schmid-Goertz

Gustav Werner Emanuel Schmid-Goertz (born November 15, 1889 in Hamburg , † September 2, 1965 ibid) was a German landscape painter , graphic artist and silhouette artist .

Life

Schmid-Goertz attended the arts and crafts school in Hamburg with Julius Wohlers from 1905 to 1908 . From 1909 to 1914 he studied at the Academy in Weimar under Fritz v. Mackensen and Gari Melchers . Afterwards he mostly worked in Altona . In 1922 he was accepted into the Altona artist association , in 1926 elected second chairman for the resigning Wilhelm Battermann, he was also a cash auditor. In 1929 he took part in the art exhibition in Altona, in 1933 he pursued the National Socialist sympathy of the association. Schmid-Goertz was also a member ofHamburg Artists Association from 1832 and the Hamburg Artists Association .

His works can be found in the Altona Museum ( oil paintings ) and in the Hamburger Kunsthalle (pencil drawings and cuts).
