Gustav Stutzer (born January 30, 1839 in Seesen am Harz, † March 18, 1921 in Heidelberg ) was a Protestant theologian and author.

Among other things, he worked as a pastor in Erkerode and Lucklum in the then Duchy of Braunschweig . There he founded the Idioten-Anstalt zu Erkerode (the later Evangelical Foundation Neuerkerode ) as a refuge for sick and disabled people in 1868 with the doctor Oswald Berkhan and the social reformer Luise Löbbecke .

He later wrote several books in which, among other things, he dealt intensively with the experiences of his life. All the scriptures give a good insight into life in the 19th century .
