Gustav Wilhelm Scharlau

Gustav Wilhelm Scharlau (born April 29, 1809 in Pasewalk , † April 24, 1861 in Stettin ) was a German doctor who dealt with hydrology .

Life

Scharlau was born the son of a businessman in Pasewalk. He attended the Marienstiftsgymnasium in Szczecin from 1819 to 1824 and then learned to be a pharmacist . From 1833 to 1836 he studied medicine at the University of Greifswald , and received his doctorate from the University of Leipzig .

Scharlau then went to Stettin , where he practiced as a doctor and ran a hydrotherapy institute. In addition, he published several medical and pharmaceutical publications and was a board member of the Entomological Association in Stettin. Scharlau was married and had a daughter.
