Gustav Zellweger

Gustav Zellweger (born October 15, 1822 in St. Gallen , † February 25, 1893 in Trogen ; legal resident in Trogen and from 1825 in St. Gallen) was a Swiss textile entrepreneur and politician from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .

Life

Fritz Zürcher was a son of Jakob Zellweger, a businessman , and Susanna Wetter. In 1851 he married Emma Kirchhofer, daughter of Paul Kirchhofer, a businessman. He completed an apprenticeship in his father's trading company. From 1843 to 1846 he worked as a businessman in Livorno and from 1853 to 1859 he was a partner in the trading company Zellweger & Sonderegger in Heiden AR . He was then president of the Kaiseraugst salt works and from 1874 a member of the board of directors of the Swiss Rhine salt works. In St. Gallen he served as district judge from 1873 to 1891, from 1879 to 1888 as a councilor and from 1881 to 1888 as a councilor . In 1856 he was a colonel .
