Gustav von Kosjek

Gustav von Kosjek (born August 17, 1838 in Mittertrixen (today part of the municipality of Völkermarkt ) , Carinthia ; † February 1, 1897 in Athens ) was an Austro-Hungarian ambassador .

Life

Gustav Freiherr von Kosjek was an interpreter in Constantinople in 1859 , became head of the interpreting department in 1871 and joined the foreign service in 1872. In 1872 he was delegated to the Berlin Congress . From 1881 to 1883 he was consul general and diplomatic agent in Cairo . From March 4, 1883 to August 26, 1887, he was ambassador to Tehran , and from August 26, 1887 to February 1, 1897, envoy in Athens .
