Gustl Angstmann (born January 12, 1947 in Munich ; † January 1, 1998 there ) was a German writer and specialist book author .

Life

Gustl Angstmann grew up in the Munich district of Haidhausen and completed a skilled worker training as a locksmith in 1964 after finishing secondary school. In 1966 he entered a monastery as a novice, which he left after a year. He made up his Abitur at the evening grammar school in Mainz and then studied pedagogy , psychology and sociology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich from 1971 to 1978 ; Doctorate in 1978. He then worked as a writer, psychotherapist in private practice and as an author of specialist books. In 1985 he received the Puchheimer Readers Award .

At times he lived, mainly to write undisturbed, in his modest refuge near Talla in Tuscany, where he occasionally offered guests a stay.

Gustl Angstmann died on January 1st, 1998 of complications from AIDS in Schwabing's hospital .

Works

Gustl Angstmann was one of the first self-confessed gay authors in Munich . In his collection of stories A perfectly normal man in 1982 he processed his gay biography in the 1970s and early 1980s. The following novels also have an autobiographical background, but are, to which the author always attached great importance, literature and thus fiction. Each of the novels deals with a basic theme of the author.

In addition, Angstmann published several specialist books on self-help topics.
