The Guttenberghaus is an Alpine Club hut of the Alpine Club Austria section of the PES at 2146  m above sea level. A. Height just below the Feisterscharte at the foot of Eselstein and Sinabell . Thus, the refuge is located in the eastern part of the Dachstein Mountains high above Ramsau and is the highest alpine club hut in Styria . It is a destination for hikers and day visitors as well as a base for mountaineers who undertake longer tours across the Dachstein Mountains from here. The Guttenberghaus has the distinction With children in huts . In winter the area offers numerous opportunities for ski tours , whereby up to eight people can stay overnight in the winter room .

history

The Guttenberghaus was built by the Austria section of the DuOe.AV from 1912 and opened on June 26, 1914. Its panoramic location under the Feisterscharte gives the visitor a wide view of Styria and the Lower Tauern . The hut was named after Councilor Adolf Ritter von Guttenberg , who headed the Austria Section until 1910 and then became President of the DOeAV. Over the years, the shelter was rebuilt and expanded several times.

  • From Kulm near Ramsau ( 1150  m , Feistererhof car park) via Lärchbodenhütte and Anton-Baum-Weg, walking time: 3 hours
  • From Rössing ( 980  m , Silberkarklamm parking lot) via Silberkarhütte, Grubach and Feisterscharte, medium, walking time: 4 hours
  • From the Gjaidalm ( 1750  m , reachable with the Dachstein cable car from Obertraun ) over the plateau "Auf dem Stein", medium, walking time: 3½ hours
