Guy Kirsch (born September 1, 1938 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg economist and social scientist .

Life

Kirsch studied economics and social sciences at the universities of Bonn and Cologne from 1958 to 1966 . In 1962 he obtained his degree in economics in Bonn . At the University of Cologne he worked with Wilfrid Schreiber and was awarded a Dr. rer. pole. PhD .

In 1966 and 1967 he worked as assistant to the general secretary of an international association in Paris.

From 1967 to 1971 he was Günter Schmöler's assistant in the finance seminar at the University of Cologne, where he completed his habilitation in 1971 . Since 1972 he has been a full professor for New Political Economy at the University of Friborg in Switzerland .

Kirsch completed several guest residencies at US universities. He has given lectures in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, Russia, Japan, India, China, Morocco, South Korea, Canada and the USA.

Kirsch has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Schader Foundation since 2001 . In 2003 he became Commander of the Order of the Oak Crown .
