Les Clark
Leslie James "Les" Clark (born November 17, 1907 in Ogden, Utah , † September 12, 1979 in Santa Barbara (California) ) was an American animator .
Live and act
Immediately after graduating from Venice High School in Los Angeles in 1927, Les Clark began working for the Walt Disney Company . At first he was employed in the “Ink and Paint” department, in which the characters developed by the cartoonists were transferred onto foils and colored in during the animation film production at the time . In 1929 he got his first job as an animator in the production of Dance of the Skeletons , the first installment in the Silly Symphonies series. His specialty was the animation of Mickey Mouse . His work for the episode “The Sorcerer's Apprentice” in the film Fantasia is particularly outstanding .
In total, Les Clark worked on almost 20 full-length films and more than 100 short films. He was one of Disney's Nine Old Men and was posthumously honored as one of the Disney Legends in 1989 . 1992 his services were to the animated film with the Winsor McCay Award of Asifa appreciated.
