Guy Williams (special effects artist)

Guy Williams (* 1969 or 1970 in Jackson , Mississippi ) is a special effects artist who was nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects in 2013 for Marvel's The Avengers and 2014 for Iron Man 3 .

Life

He grew up in Greenwood and went to Clinton High School. He then studied from 1989 at Mississippi State University . At the beginning he studied aerospace engineering , but later switched to computer technology. In 1993 he left the university and became technical director at Boss Film . In the years that followed, he worked at companies such as Warner Digital , Rhythm & Hues and Rainmaker LA , before moving to Weta Digital in 1999 to work on the Lord of the Rings trilogy .

This was followed by films such as I, Robot , X-Men: The Last Stand and Avatar - Departure for Pandora . 2013 he was together with Janek Sirrs , Jeff White and Daniel Sudick for the film The Avengers for the Oscar in the category Best Visual Effects nomination. A second nomination followed in 2014.
