Györgyi Székely-Marvalics (born December 1, 1924 in Nagykanizsa , † July 18, 2002 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian foil fencer .
Life
Györgyi Székely-Marvalics was world champion with the team in Budapest in 1959 . She had previously taken third place with her in London in 1956 . At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome , she was used in the preliminary rounds against Romania and Great Britain , both of which were won. After two more victories in the final, the Hungarian team met the Soviet Union, which they lost 3: 9. Together with Lídia Dömölky-Sákovics , Katalin Juhász , Magda Nyári-Kovács and Ildikó Ujlakiné-Rejtő , she won the silver medal.
Her uncle Kálmán Marvalits took part twice in the discus throw at the Olympic Games in the 1920s .
