The Lilienthal grammar school is a public grammar school in the Lilienthal district of Falkenberg ( Osterholz district , Lower Saxony ), where grades 5 to 13 are taught throughout.
history
In 1975, due to the increasing number of pupils at the Osterholz-Scharmbeck grammar school, it was decided to set up independent grammar schools in Lilienthal, Ritterhude and Schwanewede . The Lilienthal grammar school was established in Lilienthal in 1976 and was housed in the building of the secondary and secondary school in the Schoofmoor school center. The school was initially a grammar school for lower secondary level . In the following year it was expanded to include upper secondary level . In view of the increasing number of pupils, the secondary and secondary schools were relocated so that the Lilienthal grammar school is still the only user of the school complex on Schoofmoor. In 1980 the Abitur examination was taken for the first time at the Lilienthal Gymnasium.
Since 1996 there has been a student exchange with schools in southern Italy .
In 2007/08, the school building was completely renovated. The second phase of the high school was demolished.
An extension for 4.8 million euros with eight classrooms, designed according to the model of the Munich learning house , on the site of the former second construction phase, is under construction.

In the course level, you can choose between the linguistic, mathematical-scientific, musical-artistic and social focus. Since 2010, history and politics can also be taken bilingually ( German / English ) from grades 10 and 11 . A continuation is possible until the oral Abitur examination. The first compulsory foreign language is English, as a further foreign language you can choose between French, Spanish or Latin. All foreign languages can be taken in the upper level up to the Abitur examination at the basic and advanced level.
The grammar school is a training school and in this function it is connected to the study seminar in Verden .
The Lilienthal Gymnasium has been a certified vocational orientation school since 2016 and has received the proBerufsOrientierung seal .
The expansion to an open all-day school is planned for 2020/2021 .
particularities
The high school has had its own beekeeping since 2009 , where students can take part in the beekeeping group . In addition, as one of five schools in the Osterholz district , the school has a school medical service made up of students who have been trained by the Red Cross .
