Gyttorp is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province County Örebro and the historical province Västmanland .
Location and history
Gyttorp is about six kilometers west of Nora on Lake Vikern . Large parts of the present-day town were built by Ralph Erskine between 1945 and 1955.
Gyttorp was a small railway junction at which the branch line from Striberg connected to the Nora – Karlskoga line . The branch line has been closed and dismantled, the former main line is only used in museum traffic.
The streets länsväg 243 and 244 lead through the village .
The largest employer is Alfred Nobel's first company, Nitro Nobel AB with around 400 employees.
