Gyula Molnàr (* 1950 ) is a former Hungarian ski jumper and now a stage actor , author and director.

Career

Molnàr began his international ski jumping career with the start of the Four Hills Tournament in 1969/70 . However, he did not manage to jump into the top 70 in any of the four competitions, so that in the end he was only able to achieve 72nd place in the overall ranking.

At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1970 in Štrbské Pleso he reached 61st place after jumps on 71 and 70 meters from the normal hill. From the large hill he landed on the 52nd place after jumps on 77 and 93.5 meters.

In his second and last Four Hills Tournament in 1970/71 Molnàr was able to increase his performance slightly compared to the previous year. Already at the opening competition in Oberstdorf he achieved 48th place, the best single tour result of his career. He finished the tour in 50th place overall.

After the end of his active ski jumping career, Molnàr turned his hobby into a profession and began working as a theater actor, author and director. With his work he decisively influenced European object theater. His production of "Drei Kleine Sumorde" is one of the classics of this genre. One of his well-known pieces is Gagarin , which he last performed in 2012 in the Lindenfels West Wing in Leipzig . Before that he performed together with “Kaufmann & Co” at the 5th International Puppet Theater Festival “Fantasima” in Lienz with the play Kasperl's Roots .
