Hählgans is part of the Bad Hersfeld district of Allmershausen in the northern Hessian district of Hersfeld-Rotenburg .

The Hählgans farm is located at 242 m above sea level. NN in the southern part of the Geisbachtal , south of Gittersdorf and west of the Stellerskuppe in the Kirchheimer Bergland .
history
Hählgans was first mentioned in 1366 as the village of Algans. Other historically documented names were Ailgans (1392), Maylgans (1395), Malgans (1485) and Hehlgans (1673) before the name Hählgans was first mentioned in 1895 as a farm in the municipality of Allmershausen.
At the end of the Thirty Years' War there was only one farm in Hählgans, and in 1895 there were 19 inhabitants.
The village belonged to the von Hattenbach family as a fief, but they pledged it in 1395. In 1485, the Michaelskapelle on the Frauenberg near Hersfeld inherited the former desert .
