Hólmfríður Magnúsdóttir (born September 20, 1984 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic football player . The midfielder plays for the Icelandic national team .
Club career
Hólmfríður made his debut in 2001 for KR Reykjavík in the Icelandic league. In 2002 and 2003 she won the championship with KR and in 2002 she won the cup competition. In the 2005 season she played for ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar before returning to KR. For the 2006/07 season Hólmfríður moved to the Danish club Fortuna Hjørring and then returned again to KR. In 2007 she was named Iceland's Player of the Year. In 2009 she moved to the Swedish first division club Kristianstads DFF and played there until December 2009. Before that, she had scored over 100 goals in the Icelandic league. This was followed in spring 2010 by a trial training at Philadelphia Independence in the WPS and she signed a contract in Phily . After a year and a half, Hólmfríður returned to Iceland in July and played for Valur Reykjavík in 2011 . In 2012 she moved to Avaldsnes IL in Norway . In 2017 she returned to Iceland and played for KR again. In 2018, she remained without a mission due to her pregnancy and then moved to Selfoss.
National team
Your first international match completed Hólmfríður on February 16, 2003 against the USA . She was part of the squad for the 2009 European Women's Football Championship in Finland . Hólmfríður was on the field in all three preliminary round matches. The team was eliminated from the tournament with 0 points, but lost to Norway and Germany only just 0: 1.
On October 26, 2015, she made her 100th international match in the European Championship qualifier against Slovenia . On February 15, 2016, she was honored by the Icelandic Association together with Margrét Lára Viðarsdóttir , who had already played her 100th international match on September 22, 2015.
At the European Women's Football Championship in 2017 , she was used in the games against Austria and Switzerland . After that, she was not considered again because of her pregnancy.
