Hotel Gouthière
The Hôtel Gouthière is a mansion of the late 18th century and is located 6, Pierre Bullet rue in the 10th arrondissement of Paris . The Hôtel Gouthière has been a listed building ( Monument historique ) since 1927 .
The nearest metro stations are Château d'Eau and Jacques Bonsergent on lines 4 and 5 .
history
The Hôtel Gouthière was built between 1772 and 1780, presumably according to the plans of the architect Joseph Métivier or François-Victor Perrard de Montreuil for the successful ciseleur Pierre Gouthière . In 1787 he had to sell the building to one of his creditors , Nicolas Arnoult. It remained in the possession of this family until the 20th century. The Caserne de la Garde municipale was built on the garden of the property, which originally went as far as Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin, and in its place the new Mairie of the 10th arrondissement was built from 1892 to 1896 . In the 20th century, the Hôtel Gouthière was used as a trimmings factory and was bought by the city of Paris in the 1970s. After the extensive renovation, the Conservatoire municipal de musique du Xe arrondissement Hector Berlioz has been in the rooms since 1981 . In 1990 the south wing of the building was renewed.
architecture
The main entrance in the form of a central risalit is still preserved from the original Hôtel particulier . A staircase framed by sphinxes leads to the portal . Above this, Apollo is crowned by two muses in a semicircular niche . The end of the risalit is formed by a relief depicting Bacchanian scenes.
Inside the central wing are decorations in the style of Louis XVI. Preserved: wall reliefs, wood paneling and the floor made of different colored marble .
