history

The Hôtel Terrier de Santans was built between 1770 and 1772 for François-Félix-Bernard Terrier de Santans according to plans by the architect Claude-Joseph-Alexandre Bertrand. The young architect was supported by his Parisian colleague Jean-François Chalgrin . On the first floor, rooms with the original wood paneling and stucco ceilings have been preserved. Between 1890 and 1902, major renovations were made on the ground floor as a bank branch was set up there. Part of the building has been used as a private primary school since 1954.

architecture

The city palace with a 28 meter long facade facing the street has a central courtyard and a stone staircase of honor in the right wing. In the rear part of the property there was originally a garden, which disappeared when a factory building was set up in the 19th century. This building has since been demolished and a courtyard has been designed.
