Hühnerfriedhof was a rock band from Düsseldorf and played a mixture of rock , fusion , funk and jazz with German lyrics, sometimes also instrumental without vocals.
history
The band was founded in 1995 by Thorsten Praest ( Coldseed ) and Michael Hambloch ( Assassin ), who had worked together in the hard rock band Riot Act since 1991 . Jens Schindler played drums in the original line-up, who left the band in 1999 and was replaced by Daniel Sanleandro Fernandez ( Tierra Negra ).
The band played a lot regionally in the first few years and in 2003 released the album Zieh 'Dich aus on Rockwerk Records, which was well received by the public and the press and brought the band to national concerts and the like. a. with Michael Sagmeister helped.
In 2006, the band was commissioned to write and produce the soundtrack for the film Null-Zwo-Drei-Eins , a Ruhrpottkomedy set in Dortmund (area code: 0231) with Willi Thomczyk , Dustin Semmelrogge , Markus Knüfken , Julia Beerhold , Rene Heinersdorff and Stefan Lehnen, which premiered on December 11, 2006 at the Cinestar Dortmund.
In 2009, Hühnerfriedhof played in the Guitar Fight Club , which was won by Praest the previous year.
In 2011, drummer Daniel Sanleandro was replaced by Antonius Grützner.
In 2016 the band split up after 21 years.
