Coldseed is a metal band that was formed in 2005. The members come from Germany , Sweden and Spain . The band plays a mix of different metal genres.
history
After drummer Thomen Stauch left Blind Guardian , he announced that he wanted to be active in two bands in the future. In addition to Savage Circus , which musically resemble older Blind Guardians, he founded the band Coldseed together with Soilwork singer Björn Strid . The band signed a short time later a contract with Nuclear Blast , which is also the new record company of Blind Guardian.
On June 30, 2006, the debut album Completion Makes the Tragedy was released .
style
The style of the band is classified as a crossover of different forms of metal without a clear style name. Rather, the music offers “an astonishingly varied mixture of melodic metal and thrash on the one hand , as well as more modern playing styles in the direction of nu metal or even light touches with industrial .” The variety of music is explained in discussions with the background of the different musicians. The design stirs up erroneous expectations regarding the music, which differs noticeably from the associated Gothic Metal . “What looks like a Gothic Metal C product is actually a cheery jumping through almost all Metal styles of the last 30 years. The singing, which is adapted to the different pieces, as well as a distinctive drumming are emphasized as special features. Stauch play “confidently, be it with typical Power Metal rhythms, thrash beatings or staccato drumming.” Strid managed to give each piece a personal note.
