Hümmling pilgrimage route
The Hümmlinger Pilgerweg is a pilgrimage route in Hümmling in western Lower Saxony . With a total length of 90.7 kilometers, it runs as a circular route exclusively in the northeast of the Emsland district between Sögel , Werlte , Lorup , Esterwegen and Börger .
Signs of meaning , which are attached to erratic boulders , invite the pilgrims “at regular intervals as stations for inner contemplation and to take time for God, nature and the emsland blue sky”.
The Hümmlinger Pilgrimage Route is offered in five stages:
- Sögel - Werlte (via Spahnharrenstätte ; 26.7 kilometers; the Theikenmeer nature reserve is on the route)
- Werlte - Lorup (11.5 kilometers)
- Lorup - Esterwegen (12.5 kilometers)
- Esterwegen - Börger (via Breddenberg ; 28 kilometers)
- Börger - Sögel (via Werpeloh ; 12 kilometers)
