Hütten is a district of Schelklingen in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg .

Geographical location

Hütten is located in the Schmiechtal , a valley in the Swabian Alb . Although it is surrounded by forests and a not very densely populated area, the place is not only a destination for hikers and day trippers, but also a place of residence for commuters to the nearby towns on the southern edge of the Swabian Alb.

history

Mentioned for the first time in 1216 as Studach , Hütten came to Württemberg in 1751 with the imperial rule of Justingen . As a castle settlement at the foot of the Hohenjustingen Castle, which is now only in ruins , Hütten has always been strongly crafted. The community originally had no markings of its own and only a few meadows in the Schmiechtal.

Religions

Under the barons of Freyberg , who were followers of the Schwenckfeld teaching , the place remained outwardly Catholic and parish to Justingen, but those of Freyberg endeavored to enforce Schwenckfeld's Protestant teaching, but without lasting success.

Today, the Catholic population is of huts in the Roman Catholic church Gundershofen the parish, the Protestant inhabitants of Mehrstetten .

Incorporations

The community of Hütten was part of the Justingen rule until 1751 , which was acquired by Duke Carl Eugen von Württemberg in the same year . Until the reorganization of the kingdom in upper offices, Justingen formed a staff office with the castle as the administrative seat. Then Hütten was assigned to the Münsingen Oberamt. In 1934 the Münsingen Oberamt was renamed the Münsingen district . Since the community reform in 1973, Hütten has been a sub-community of the city of Schelklingen .

Sub-locations of huts

The district of Hütten administratively includes the places Schloß Neusteusslingen , Talsteusslingen and Teuringshofen . These three places were formerly part of the Steusslingen rule . At the beginning of the 19th century, as part of Ennahofen , they were assigned to the Oberamt Ehingen , which was renamed the Ehingen district in 1938 . The places were assigned to the Alb-Donau district in the early 1970s and incorporated into Schelklingen.

Population development

Hütten currently has a little over 400 inhabitants.

Economy and Infrastructure

traffic

Hütten is on Schmiechtalstrasse.

Hütten has had its own train station on the Swabian Alb Railway since 1901 . The Royal Württemberg State Railways built the station building as a standard type IIa station. The route has been used again by trains since 2005. The regional trains of Deutsche Bahn are usually railcars of the DB class 628 on weekdays , mainly for school transport, and on Sundays and public holidays they are usually rail buses for excursions. After "Ulmer Spatz" and "Roter Brummer" were discontinued by the Ulm Railroad Friends at the end of 2013, the "Schwäbische Alb Bahn" took over excursion services on Sundays and on other days for special occasions from the 2014 season. The season runs from April to October. A connection from Engstingen to Schelklingen and occasionally to Ulm is offered.

Culinary specialties

In the huts there are two old, beautifully restored half-timbered inns, the Gasthaus zum Bären in Bärentalgasse and the Gasthaus zum Mohren in Mühlgasse. Both offer typical regional Swabian dishes.
