HASPAX

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The HASPAX is a share index that shows the development of listed companies from the Hamburg metropolitan region . It was calculated on April 15, 1996 with a starting value of 333.60 and was first published on May 2, 1996. In addition to the share price development, it also takes dividend payments into account and is designed as a performance index. So that not a few companies dominate the index, the maximum weight per share is limited to 15 percent of the index capitalization.

The exchanges AG as the operating company of the Hamburg Stock Exchange calculates the index. The HASPAX Council reviews the composition of the HASPAX once a year. One representative each of the Hamburg Stock Exchange, the daily newspaper Die Welt and the Hamburger Sparkasse sit on the committee .

The initiators of HASPAX want to use the index to make trends in the corporate landscape in and around Hamburg visible and to illustrate the change in the regional economic structure. In addition to companies with a long history, relatively young growth companies are also represented in the index. The index is intended to give investors orientation if they are interested in investments in the economic region.
