history
Today's Hanseatic Health Insurance Fund goes back to the self-help association of the clerks of the praiseworthy Kramer office, founded in 1826 . At the time, clerks were the clerks in the office buildings . As early as 1827, the association was renamed the Kranken-Casse der clerks of the praiseworthy Kramer office . Thus the Hanseatische Krankenkasse is one of the oldest health insurance companies in Germany, the general introduction of the German social insurance did not take place until 1881; over 50 years later. In 1901 the health insurance company already had 2,447 members. From 1927 on, it was called the Hanseatische Ersatzkasse von 1826 zu Hamburg , in 1996 it was given the current name HEK - Hanseatische Krankenkasse .
