Haageocereus pseudoversicolor is a species of plant in the genus Haageocereus from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet pseudoversicolor means 'apparently shimmering in different colors'.

description

Haageocereus pseudoversicolor grows shrubby with upright shoots branching out from the base , which can reach a diameter of 8 to 10 centimeters and heights of up to 1.2 meters. There are about 18 ribs with brown areoles on them . The one or two strong, downward-pointing central spines are light to dark brown and up to 3 centimeters long. The multiple, yellowish-brown radial spines have a length of up to 1 centimeter.

The white flowers reach a length of up to 5.5 centimeters. The greenish red fruits have a diameter of up to 3 centimeters.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Haageocereus pseudoversicolor is distributed in Peru in the Lambayeque region in the valley of the Río Saña at altitudes of 250 to 620 meters.

It was first described in 1957 by Werner Rauh and Curt Backeberg .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
