Haageocereus vulpes is a species of plant in the genus Haageocereus from the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet is derived from the Latin word vulpes for 'fox' and refers to the fox-brown thorns.

Haageocereus vulpes grows as a shrub with upright shoots branching out from the base , which reach a height of 1 to 2 meters with a diameter of 4.5 to 8 centimeters. There are 13 to 16 ribs that are 5 to 8 millimeters high and on which there are brown woolly areoles . The approximately 20 strong, awl, unequal and slightly curved central spines are up to 4 inches long. One to three of them are up to two inches long. The 30 to 40 needle-like to hair-like radial spines have a length of 7 to 12 millimeters.
The white, fragrant flowers reach a length of up to 9 centimeters. The initially green fruits later turn reddish brown and have a diameter of 3 to 4.5 centimeters.
Distribution and systematics
Haageocereus vulpes is common in Peru in the Lima region in the valley of the Río Huaura .
It was first described in 1981 by Friedrich Ritter .
