Haji Baba Sheikh

Hajji Baba Sheikh (in Kurdish Hecî Baba Şêx ; * 1882 in Bukan , † 1959 ) was Prime Minister of the short-lived Republic of Kurdistan .

After the end of the republic by the Iranian army, which conquered the republic on December 16, 1946 , he was the only one not to be seen together with President Qazi Mohammed and other members of the government on March 30, 1947 on Tschuar-chira-Platz (Four -Lamp place) hanged . This was because he was immune because of his religious rank. The Kurdish journalist and poet Hêmin Mukriyanî was his secretary during the time of the republic.
