Hagau is a church village and part of the community Wolferstadt in the district of Donau-Ries in the administrative district of Swabia in Bavaria .

It belongs to the border towns of the Alemannic dialect area to East Franconian.

Hagau was an independent municipality in the district of Donauwörth and was added to the district of Donau-Ries as part of the regional reform in Bavaria on July 1, 1972 , until May 1, 1973 as the district of Nördlingen-Donauwörth . On May 1, 1978 it was incorporated into the community of Wolferstadt.

The Catholic branch church Sankt Vitus in the village belongs to the parish of Sankt Martin in Wolferstadt .

Hagau is located on the district road DON 3 , which leads from Steinbühl via Hagau to the district border to Döckingen , where it merges into the district road WUG 33 .
