The grove-Augentrost ( Euphrasia nemorosa , Syn. : Euphrasia curta ) is a plant type from the genus Augentrost ( Euphrasia ) in the family of broomrape plants (Orobanchaceae).

The grove eyebright is a deciduous, annual herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 10 to 35 cm. It is a therophyte and a semi-parasitic plant . The stem branches into strong side branches. The hairless to densely hairy leaves are almost horizontal. They are set on both sides with three to nine pointed teeth.

The inflorescences are terminal and appear after at least five internodes . The crown is 5 to 7.5 mm long and white to purple in color.

The fruits are capsule fruits that are slightly shorter than the perennial calyx .

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 44.

Occurrence

The grove eyebright occurs in Europe and as a neophyte in eastern America. It grows on semi-arid, semi-arid grasslands and on the edges of paths at altitudes of up to 1550 meters. He prefers fresh, nutrient poor soils . In Central Europe it is a character species of the order Nardetalia, but also occurs in societies of the associations Cynosurion or Polygonion avicularis.
