Harold "Hal" Andrew Lindes (born June 30, 1953 in Monterey , California ) is an English - American guitarist and composer.

Life

In 1979 he played guitar in the British band Darling , which broke up after the release of their first album Put It Down To Experience .

In 1980 he became a member of the British rock band Dire Straits . With the band he recorded three records (a studio album, a live album and an EP) before leaving in early 1985.

Lindes was the session guitarist on the albums Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors (1990), Yin and Yang (1995) by Scottish singer Fish .

He composed a number of pieces of music for TV series and films. Excerpts: Don't Do It! (1995), Airport (1997 - BBC documentary series ), Reckless (1997), Reckless - The Sequel (1998), Gunshy (1998), Forgive and Forget (2000), Between the Lines (BBC) and Band of Gold ( ITV ), Quicksand - French-British thriller (2001) and the Australian drama The Boys Are Back - Back to Life from 2009.
