ExtendedancEPlay is the first EP from the British rock band Dire Straits . This was released in January 1983 as a supplement to the album Love over Gold .
background
ExtendedancEPlay comprises three tracks on the European version that are very rock-and-roll- oriented and in this respect clearly set themselves apart from the classic Dire Straits songs. It was recorded between October 1st and 3rd, 1982 at Jam Studios. Terry Williams plays drums for the first time. The name of the album is a play on a word juxtaposition and -überschneidung and is made up of "extended" (English: expanded ), "dance" (English: dance ), " EP " and "play" (English: play ), so a danceable EP. The original UK version only had the first three songs, the fourth badges, posters, stickers and t-shirts were added to the North American edition and were a holdover from the 1982 album Love over Gold .
