Terry Williams (drummer)

Terry Williams (* 11. January 1948 in Swansea , South Wales ) is a British rock - drummer .

Williams' music career began in the 1960s when he played with various little-known Welsh bands, including The Smokeless Zone and Dream. In 1968 and 1969 he also took part in recordings of Dave Edmunds ' then Love Sculpture project . In 1970 he then joined Man , together with Martin Ace , a former band colleague , where he played on all other albums until they split in 1977. On the side, he continued his work with Dave Edmunds in the early 1970s and has now joined his band Rockpile .

From 1982 to 1988 Williams was a member of the Dire Straits . He was also active as a musician for various interpreters; Artists he has worked with include Dion , Bob Dylan , The Everly Brothers , Richie Havens , Allan Holdsworth , Mark Knopfler , Nick Lowe , Meat Loaf , The Motors , Graham Parker , Dolly Parton , Cliff Richard and Tina Turner .
