Nick Lowe
Nicholas Drain "Nick" Lowe (born March 24, 1949 in Walton-On-Thames ) is an English songwriter , bassist , singer and music producer .
Career
Nick Lowe began his career in the English pub rock scene in the early 1970s . He had a musical role model in Jim Ford . He was a member of the band Brinsley Schwarz , which broke up in 1975. In the late 1970s he played with Dave Edmunds in the group Rockpile .
At the end of the 1970s he made a name for himself as a solo artist in the New Wave scene and as a producer of the Pretenders and Elvis Costello . In 1979 he married Carlene Carter , daughter of June Carter Cash and stepdaughter of Johnny Cash , with whom he also recorded and produced some songs. The marriage ended in divorce in 1990, but Lowe remained close friends with the Cash Carter clan. In 1992 he played a successful album with Ry Cooder , John Hiatt and Jim Keltner under the band name Little Village .
In 2018 a feature appeared together with Per Gessle from Roxette ; Lowe sang the title track Small Town Talk with Gessle for the album of the same name, which was recorded in Nashville .
