Communiqué is the second studio album by the British rock band Dire Straits . It was released in 1979. The most famous song on the album is Lady Writer , which was released as a single.
background
The second album by Dire Straits picked up where their debut album Dire Straits left off. Released only a few months later, it was able to build on its great commercial success. However, it was judged far worse by the critics. In 2000, Communiqué was re-released as a remastered version along with the band's other albums .
Trivia
The song Once Upon a Time in the West was allegedly banned in the GDR "because the authorities thought the title meant: At some point we will all belong to the West."
