On the Night is a live album by the British rock band Dire Straits . It was released in May 1993 as the result of the last major tour before the band members went their separate ways in the mid-1990s.

Creation and publication

On the tour for On Every Street in May 1992 recordings of a total of three appearances in the amphitheater in Nîmes and in De Kuip in Rotterdam were made and mixed into an album by Neil Dorfsman in the London AIR Studios. There was also an edition with the live EP Encores as a bonus CD. These pieces were also included on the video version of the album.

Reviews

On the Night was a chart success, but the live album was also criticized for its uninteresting performance and especially for its overly long, monotonous guitar solos.
