Halosauropsis macrochir is a deep sea fish from the family of lizard eels (Halosauridae). It is widespread between 50 ° north and 47 ° south latitude in the Atlantic, Pacific and western Indian Oceans at depths of 1,100 to 3,300 meters.

Halosauropsis macrochir becomes 90 cm long. The species has an eel-like body that is long but flattened at the side. The tail is slender and pointed. A caudal fin is missing. Way of life
