The Halstenbach is a 3.9 km long orographic left tributary of the Agger in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

geography

The brook rises as Sauerbach northeast of Alferzhagen , a district of Wiehl , at 312  m above sea level. NN (7 ° 34'40 "E, 50 ° 59'26" N). From here it first flows southwest through Alferzhagen until the Hollenhard (290.1 ​​m) blocks the further path and deflects the stream to the south. After 500 m the run turns again to the west. The only notable tributary flows here on the left. This feeds the water from the north slope of the Leutenberg (297 m) to the stream . From here the brook bears the name Halstenbach . After a further 600 m, the stream reaches Halstenbach , then passes the federal highway 56 and flows north into the Agger . The mouth is on the eastern edge of Dieringhausen at an altitude of 166  m above sea level. NN .

The Halstenbach overcomes 113 meters in altitude from the source to the mouth, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 41.2 ‰.
