Alferzhagen in the Oberbergischer Kreis is one of 51 localities in the city of Wiehl in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

Location and description

The place is located near Marienhagen to the south on the state roads L 145 and L 102 and is about 5 kilometers northeast of the center of Wiehl as the crow flies. Aferzhagen is located north of the federal highway 4 .

history

In 1443 the place was mentioned for the first time in the annals of the Archdiocese of Cologne "Income and rights of the Cologne Apostolic Foundation". The spelling of the first mention was Alvershagen , in the A. Mercator card 1575 Alfentzigen , this is said to be derived from the name Alfheri , where heri corresponds to the word army . The addition - hagen was used for fenced or hedged settlements. According to another opinion, Alfred is presumed to be the namesake: adal = noble; fred = peace. Ultimately, it is a question of whether the clan leader was the first settler of Saxon or Franconian origin.

In the fodder oat label of the Homburg rule from 1580, 5 Wittgenstein and 3 Bergische subjects are counted as subject to tax in Allfertzhaigenn .

In the area around Alferzhagen there are remains of the former ore mining.
