Location of Hübender in Wiehl

Hübender in the Oberbergischer Kreis is one of 51 localities in the city of Wiehl in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia ( Germany ).

Location and description

The place lies between the places Wiehl in the north and Bierenbachtal in the south and is about 2 km south of the city center of Wiehl as the crow flies. The neighboring village is Pfaffenberg . Hübender is south of the federal highway 4 .

history

The place was first mentioned in a document by A. Mercator in 1575 . The spelling of the first mention was Am Hoefener .

Hübender is located on Brüderstraße , an ancient high-altitude trail with a customs post. (The current name "Römerstraße" is misleading, because there are no indications for the presence of the Romans in Oberbergischen).

In feed oats list of rule Homburg of 1580 are Uff the Heuffender called 3 Wittgensteinische subjects as dutiable. Since the previous century, Hübender had gained importance as a " summer retreat " for townspeople.
