Büttinghausen in the Oberbergischer Kreis is one of 51 localities in the city of Wiehl in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Cologne administrative district .

Location and description

The place is about 3 km east of the center of Wiehl on the river Wiehl on the state road L 148. Büttinghausen is made up of the districts Büttinghausen, Pützberg, Pützberger Höhe and Dornhecke. Büttinghausen is located south of the federal motorway 4 .

history

  • In 1443 Buttenhusen , today Büttinghausen, was first mentioned in a document. The ending ~ inghausen suggests one of the early settlements from the time of the Frankish conquest. Name origin from bud / but = ruler or from the name of the first settler Buto .
  • Buttickhausen in the A. Mercator map from 1575.
  • In the fodder oat slip of the Homburg rule from 1580, 3 Wittgenstein, 2 Sayn and 3 Bergische subjects are counted as taxable for Buetenkaussen .
