Hambach is a municipality in the Rhein-Lahn district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Diez .

history

Hambach was first mentioned in 1290 in a necrology from the St. Lubentius monastery in Dietkirchen . Hambach was part of the County of Diez . From 1806 the place was part of the Duchy of Nassau , which was annexed by Prussia in 1866 . Since 1946 the place has been part of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate .

A school was built in 1890, it had to be closed in 1936 due to a lack of students and was then used again from 1947 to 1961. Today Hambach is in the catchment area of ​​the schools in Altendiez .
