Neuklef in the Oberbergischer Kreis is one of 51 localities in the city of Wiehl in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location and description

The place is located between the places Alperbrück in the north and Wiehl in the east and is about 1.5 km as the crow flies from the city center of Wiehl. Neuklef is located south of the federal motorway 4 .

In 1443 the place is mentioned for the first time in a document, namely "Income and rights of the Cologne Apostelstiftes ." 1575 in the A. Mercator card Op dem Kleff . (klef = rocks)

Spelling of the first mention: Cleve . The district of Altklef, Op dem alden Kleff , on the far bank of the Wiehl, is now part of Wiehl.

Village community

On May 4, 2007, the Neuklef- Alperbrück eV village community was founded. The aim of the community, which encompasses both localities, is to promote homeland care and local history. In addition, there are tasks to promote and improve the village image, the neighborly relations, as well as the preservation of the village culture and customs.
