Hau is one of 51 localities in the city of Wiehl in the Oberbergisches Kreis in the administrative district of Cologne in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Location and description

The place is about 3.5 km southwest of the city center of Wiehl, near the state road L 350. The neighboring villages are Gassenhagen , Fahlenbruch and Niederbellinghausen . Hau is south of the federal highway 4 .

history

First mention of the place in 1575 on the A. Mercator map Im Haich (im Hain), homestead surrounded by thorn bushes (Verhau). In the fodder sheet of the Homburg rule from 1580, Hauwe Johenntgen is named as a subject subject to the Saynian who is subject to tax.

There was an early production of iron ore.
